How to participate

Entering the competition is free of charge.

Entries must be received between 12th of March and 30th of June 2021.

Participants may submit maximum 6 photos of each single church..

Images should be submitted with the highest quality with regard to the file size, bit depth and resolution. Minimum size 3000px.

Each photo must be in JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF format and up to 10 Mbytes in size

Each application should be followed by a brief and accurate factual reference to the history of the monument. It may also be accompanied by a recent or old photos with general view to provide photographic information about the concrete monument.
The text file must be in pdf or doc or docx format and must be up to 5 Mbytes in size and should contain information about submitted church.

Contestants must complete the entry form on the website to register for the competition.

After contest registration the contestant will receive a password to his / her inbox. Using this password the contestant will upload his / her work. That is a text with church information and up to 6 photos with the Hagia Sophia church. In total, contestants can use the same password up to three times with the same number of Hagia Sophia churches. If a contestant wishes to do submission for more than three Hagia Sophia churches he / she should send an email to : contest@eiao.org.
Contestants can upload all photos using his / her email and password after finishing contestant registration. After registration, contestants can do login to the contest platform. After login he / she can upload photos, text and church location map. There are also instructions on top of each contest page.

Photos can also be uploaded to the website www.orthphoto.net. We will select 5 authors who will send us their photos and will forward them a copy of the photo album.

Participants may be invited to submit original electronic photos. Failure to do so may result in exclusion from the competition. The I.A.O. organizing committee reserves the right to verify the above and rule on any dispute at any time as well as to exclude photographers who are unable to validate the information submitted on the submission form.
